Scholarships for the Taking

What do uber capitalist Ayn Rand and the Vegetarian Resource Group have in common?

No, it’s not an aversion to government milk price supports, or a shared treatise on the inefficiency of farm collectives in the old USSR. What they have in common are wads of scholarship money available to students willing to spend the time and energy in pursuit of their funding. Kiplinger reported today that a search on www.fastweb.com will access 1.5 million possible scholarships with an aggregate value of $3.4 billion. Fastweb also searches “best-fit” colleges and internships as a nice bonus, though I think the college selection process still needs some tweaking by the techies at Fastweb.
